Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any component or to fish, egg, soya or peanut protein
• Inborn errors of amino acid metabolism
• Severe hypertriglyceridaemia (above 1,000 mg/dl, 11.4 mmol/l)
• Severe blood coagulation disorders
• Hyperglycaemia requiring more than 6 units of insulin per hour
• Acidosis
• Intrahepatic cholestasis
• Severe hepatic insufficiency
• Severe renal insufficiency without haemofiltration or dialysis
• Worsening haemorrhagic diatheses
• Acute thromboembolic events
• Fat embolism
• Children under 2 years of age
• Unstable circulation with vital threat (e.g. collapse, shock)
• Acute myocardial infarction or stroke
• Unstable metabolic condition (e.g. severe post-aggression syndrome, coma of unknown origin)
• Inadequate cellular oxygen supply (hypoxia)
• Disturbances of electrolyte and fluid balance
• Acute pulmonary oedema
• Decompensated cardiac insufficiency
